Holdenby House 4th February 2019
In September children are asked if they would like to be on the school council. If they do, they say a small speech/manifesto to their class. The children in each class vote for who they would like to represent them on the school council.
The school council consists of two representatives from each class and meets every half term. The year 6 school councillors act as chair person and note takers. At each meeting the council discuss ideas about how to improve the school and what is going well.
The minutes of each meeting are shared with every class.
School councillors are often involved in interviewing new members of staff, meetings in school and choosing new resources.
