Claydon House - Year 1 - 21 June 2018

In History, Year 1 have been learning about Florence Nightingale. To enhance our work we are planning to take the children to Claydon House. We will be looking at her life and work, and making comparisons between life in Victorian times and the present.

It will be an all day visit, leaving school at 9.30 a.m. and returning to school by 3.00 p.m.

The children will need a packed lunch, in a disposable named plastic bag, together with a drink of water in a disposable plastic bottle, so that they can be thrown away after eating.

If you have ordered a school meal for this day, an away day meal will automatically be ordered for your child. If you do not wish your child to have this meal, please inform your child’s class teacher in writing to cancel it and inform Chartwells.

On the day, children will need to wear their school uniform with a light waterproof coat and sensible shoes, as there will be a lot of walking during the visit.

The cost will be £10.25. You are not obliged to make a contribution to the cost of the visit and pupils will not be excluded through inability or unwillingness to pay. However, the visit can only go ahead if there are sufficient contributions to cover the costs. You are therefore invited to make a voluntary contribution to cover the cost. Please pay by cheque, if possible, made payable to Tickford Park Primary School and put it in an envelope marked with your child’s name.

If you have not already done so please return the proforma, with your contribution, cheques payable to Tickford Park Primary School, by Monday 18th June.

To ensure the school complies fully with the policy approved by the governing body, and meets Insurance and Health and Safety regulations, the following rule applies: where paperwork is not received in advance of a school trip your child will not be allowed to participate.

If you would like your child to visit the Gift Shop please ensure that they bring in no more than £5.00 in a named purse/wallet. Their money MUST be given to their class teacher until they visit the Shop.

If your child forgets their money and you take it to the office, there is no guarantee that it will be delivered before they visit the shop.

Martin Building Heating Replacement - Year 4 Next to Relocate

Replacing all of the heating in Martin Building has begun; the heating work will continue throughout the Summer Term and should be completed by September. The contractors will work in one year group at a time, and during that time (2/3 weeks) the whole year group will be relocated into the Library and Aston Hall. The work will begin in Year 3.

The heating replacement in Martin Building is ongoing, as from Monday 25th June the contractors will begin working in year 4. For 2/3 weeks the whole year group will be relocated to the Library and Aston Hall. Furniture from their own classrooms will be moved into both areas so that there is familiarity for the children. The children will use the toilets by the library and will follow normal routines, and the existing timetable where possible. At the end of the day please collect Peridot children from the external library door and Turquoise children from the food technology door (by Astro turf)

Please be assured that the health and safety of all our children and staff will be paramount during these improvements.

We will keep parents up to date with any changes and thank you for your support in this matter.
